Long Long Long Long Long Long Long Overdue Massive Thing

I apologize.

I'm absolutely rubbish.

I promised myself I'd update this more often and I just let it slip behind. So... I guess you might consider this an oversized recap of everything that's been going on. And I also guess that some of the information shared in this entry will be proven wrong in the coming weeks, in which case I endeavor to fix the problem in a much more prompt and timely manner.

Anyway, a lot's happened. We've gigged a bit and as usual I wanna thank all the people who showed up to the following venues and events for making them really rather jolly and whatnot. In no particular order, thank you to the patrons, proprietors, organizers and visitors of The Jacob's Ladder in Falmouth, The Ritz in Penzance, Lusty Glaze Beach in Newquay and the St. Austell Rugby Club.

We won a wee battle of the bands at the latter venue, which was quite the thrill for us... we're both flattered and thankful for your choice and are looking forward to getting out to Eden Cafe and playing with the talented and exciting Relentless as a result. Hope to see some of you there... gig dates either pending or placed a little further down this entry.

So in between all of that, Dan and I have set ourselves a challenge to write at least a verse and chorus of a song every week or two over the next few months, so expect some (fingers crossed) quality material to be popping up thick and fast at future gigs.

Here's a few dates we have coming up if you fancy coming to see us soon:

Eden Cafe, St. Austell - Nov 18th
The Ritz/Studio Bar, Penzance - Jan 13th
The Jacob's Ladder, Falmouth - Jan 27th

I'm almost certain there's more that my sieve like memory is forgetting, but at least you have plenty of time to prepare for those three, haha! If any more spring to mind in the meantime we'll be sure to let you know.

So there you are. I hope this wasn't disappointing given the timeframe. Bah.

Take care.

B-Side Ourselves

Wow, it's been almost a month since I've updated this little bloglette. I guess I can only offer my apologies and say that I'll try to be more regular with it. Anyway, first and foremost, a big thank you to everyone who showed their support at B-Side @ Bunters. It was a pleasure to play under The PatrickJamesPearson Band and a really fun night to boot.

To those of you who might not have heard us before and were interested enough to explore further... and if you're actually reading this, boy, you like to explore... then you might like to come along to our next big support slot with Mr. Charlie Duke. (Obviously we'll also fill you in with any gigs we might happen to be playing in the meantime. ;)) It'll probably be a drastically different sound to what you heard at Bunters. Whilst we showed you our rocking side, the Duke dates will probably feature something a little softer, so if that tickles your musical g-spot, you GOTTA come now.

As usual, updates imminent. Cheers!

Moonlet Unplugged Part Duex

Well, hello again.

First of all, big thanks to the crowd at Eden Cafe. I have to admit, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, but you guys really gave us a warm welcome. Was nice to see some people out there who were literally singing along to the words of some of our songs, totally unprompted. If you happen to be reading this, you know who you are and it was a really weird kind of 'rock star' moment for me. So that was cool.

I mentioned it at the venue, but if you're interested in our EP 'The Likes of David Bryant', you can purchase it on iTunes or AmazonMP3.

Get it? Got it? Good.

Anyway, just a reminder that we're going to be on David White's radio show 'BBC: Introducing' on the 30th of August. I have a LITTLE time left to find out times and whether it's going out live or whatever, but do keep it in the back of your minds... it's gonna be quite fun. Oh, and if you happen to listen, share the link with your friends. Tell your mothers and the likes. Get the word out there, guys!

Anyway, here's the setlist for Eden Cafe.

Moonlet Unplugged

Hello again,

First and foremost, thanks so much to everyone that took the time to come down to William IVth last night. Definately had a lot of fun, especially with the few at the end who got up and were determined to have a little boogie right to the end. We appreciated the enthusiasm... something we always get in Truro and something that always makes it so much fun to play there.

Also big up to Martin Skews for supporting us. Check him out on Myspace, you won't be disappointed. http://www.myspace.com/martinskews

I'll post the setlist at the end of this post, in case you're interested in what you heard but didn't quite know what we were playing.

So what's next? Well, if you missed us in Truro yesterday you can catch us playing at the Eden Cafe in St Austell this upcoming Friday (19th)... but wait! There is SO a twist. It'll be four of us, for a start, since our drummer Zeno has prior commitments he unfortunately cannot escape from. Secondly, it's going to be an acoustic gig... so we're gonna be getting kind of creative with the more 'rock-band' style song arrangements... so even regulars at our gigs will be in for something a bit new and a bit surprising. Hopefully.

Furthermore... and I need to get more info on this, info I will definately post when I have it... we're also going to be featured on BBC Radio Cornwall as part of David White's 'BBC Introducing' show on Tuesday 30th of August. We're thrilled to be a part of this and we'll be having a bit of a natter, I expect and we'll be playing some of our music live for y'all to hear.

Do tune in. :)

LoveTube

That sounded a bit nortee, didn't it?

Anyway, our guitarist, Roger is off on holiday. He's beggering off to have a wonderful time in The States so we're using this time off from gigging in order to bring you lovely people some new, lovely stuff. For example, tomorrow afternoon, the 'Monks are getting together in a room somewhere in Penzance in order to shoot some live videos of some of our songs... hopefully one or two that haven't been made avaliable outside of our live shows... how exciting is that!?

On top of that, Dan and I have been in major cahoots, preparing to write lots and lots of new songs to teach that wandering minstrel, Roger, when he gets back. I've been getting down to writing lyrics and I'm really jazzed about some of the material that's come out of it. I'm sure by the time August rolls around we'll have plenty of new tunes to show you. Look out for some rough drafts in a vodcast or something.

And finally, in regards to our upcoming EP 'The Likes of David Bryant'... if you haven't had a chance to check them out, we've released two exclusive tracks, Too Late to Mate and David Bryant Tried to Section and Kill Me. You can find them on our Reverb Nation page or our Facebook page in the 'My Band' Tab. Links below.

So yeah, lots of news there for you to get your teeth into. More updates on the videos and songs coming soon.

Singing Badly For Courage

It's 2AM and I'm still finding it hard to get to sleep after what is probably one of the funnest gigs I've ever played with the band. Seriously, I think everyone in the band agrees that the Tanya's Courage Trust gig was a tremendous amount of fun to play. I can only apologize for my shaky vocal performance... my excuse is that I was recovering from a serious case of 'the sore throat.' Foolproof, eh?

There were a lot of good acts, actually... True Collision, Company B and The Belfast Busker were particularly enjoyable for me to watch. Actually, going on right after the 'Busker was very daunting as he's such a charming, charismatic showman... surely a tough act to follow, but I think we did ok. I hope you enjoyed it if you were there. I'm sure you did, why wouldn't you, eh?

So thanks for showing up, despite the miserable weather threatening to put a downer on it. Thanks to the organisers for letting us on board... like I said, it was a lot of fun.

So, we premiered a new song tonight... 'Dayglo.' I dunno how many of you are familiar with our set, but I'm wondering... how did the new number go down? If you didn't manage to catch what was being sung, I'll post the lyrics in due time for you to have a gander at... maybe you sing along at a future gig? Hah.

Also coming up real soon are announcements on where to find us next. Stay tuned.
